Liverpool hero Mohamed Salah was quick to delete his Instagram story after signing a new contract at the club.
The saga of Salah and his illusive Liverpool contract is finally over, as the Egyptian put pen to paper on a new three-year deal that will see him earn £350,000-a-week. The announcement was made on Liverpool's social media as an interview was conducted in a gorgeous holiday location, but Salah chose to announce it in his own unique way personally.
The Egyptian is known for having a great sense of humour, and fans enjoyed his Instagram story as he shared an iconic scene from popular film The Wolf Of Wall Street. But it was later taken down despite being well received.
The scene from the film was when Jordan Belfort who was played by Leanardo Di Caprio announced to his office that he would not be leaving the company, although it was slightly more dramatic than that. The main character screamed "I'm not f***ing leaving" which was followed by an eruption of celebrations from his colleagues.
Salah decided to share this to his 51 million followers on Instagram as he finally announced that he would not be leaving Liverpool, after many reports that he could part ways with the club. Salah's initial deal was meant to end next summer.
But Salah will be staying, and Liverpool fans have finally got their wish. Salah's extension also softens the blow of Sadio Mane leaving the club, as the Senegalese star joined Bayern Munich.
Salah may have deleted the humorous story, but he did send the Liverpool fans an emotional message after signing his new deal. The Egyptian told Liverpool's official website: "My message to them is, you know me and I give everything to the club.
"So, my message is the players in the team want to give our best next season to try to win all the trophies. As usual, you stay behind us and give us a big push and I am sure we are going to win trophies again [together]."
And Jurgen Klopp was also delighted, after he also extended his stay at Liverpool earlier on in the year. When speaking about Salah's extension, Klopp said: "This is a special treat for our supporters to enjoy their weekend even more.
"I'm sure there will be some celebrations tonight." There were multiple celebrations at Liverpool last season, as they won both domestic cups in a fantastic campaign that almost saw them win the quadruple.
But their cheers were slightly muted towards the end of the season, as they missed out on the Premier League title and then lost the Champions League final within the space of a week. Salah will be desperate to go again next season and go one further in those two competitions.
Salah is ready to be unleashed, and now the contract talk won't be clouding him on and off the field. The Egyptian will also have new signings Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay to help bolster Liverpool's chances.
