The Scottish icon has created a star-studded line-up that includes two Liverpool greats, one England hero, and three former Rangers teammates.
The six-a-side tournament is set to return to screens for the first time in 11 years on July 8, that will see some of the greatest players in history feature.
Braehead Arena in Glasgow, Scotland will host the event that will feature Liverpool, Manchester United, Celtic and Rangers icons.
McCoist played in the the competition the last time it took place, a few years after he called time on his playing career with Kilmarnock.
Even though he will not be featuring this time around, he named a fearsome side for Masters Football when speaking on talkSPORT's breakfast show.
"I can give mine very quickly. I'm playing (Andy) Goram in goal just ahead of Chris Woods," he said.
"I'm going to go one at the back, I'm playing (Richard) Gough and then I'm going to have [Graeme] Souness, [Paul] Gascoigne, [Brian] Laudrup and [Sir Kenny] Dalglish."
Also speaking on talkSPORT, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor gave his team.
It included his former Villa teammate Shay Given, Chelsea icons John Terry, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and Man United hero Wayne Rooney.
McCoist, though, wasn't very impressed with that team and when asked by hosts Laura Woods which team would win he scoffed and said: "What?! That team [his] would beat anybody."
Having had a personal history with each of those players, it can be understood why McCoist picked those six.
Sir Kenny Dalglish
The Rangers legend had nothing but praise for iconic Scotsman.
Speaking to the station last October, McCoist told everyone to not draw any comparisons between him and current Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah after his goal against Man City.
"Just calm down. Calm down," he urged during a discussion about Salah on talkSPORT Breakfast.
"Is he the finest striker to grace Anfield? No, he's not. Kenny Dalglish is, by some considerable distance.
"Kenny Dalglish was one of the most fantastic football players I've ever seen."
Graeme Souness
Another Liverpool icon, but it was with Rangers that Souness and McCoist shared some wonderful memories.
However, on one occasion, the latter revealed a time when the former midfielder absolutely lost it with him.
After Rangers' dismal defeat to Old Firm derby rivals Celtic in 1988, Souness,player-manager at the time turned his full fury towards an unassuming McCoist.
"I wish a had a pound for every time Graeme was going to kill me, and I mean literally kill me, man," McCoist explained.
"He's absolutely raging, he's been through everybody and he's turned to me and got his finger right in my face and he says: 'You are a DISGRACE! You are this, you are that…'."
Richard Gough
Spending 11 years together at Ibrox from 1987 to 1998, Gough and McCoist had some great memories together.
With over 300 appearances at the club, the former Sweden defender also captained the club to nine league titles in-a-row under Walter Smith.
Andy Goram
Helping the club to win five league titles consecutively, Goram was one of the most consistent goalkeepers the club have ever had.
After one of those title wins though, McCoist revealed a hilarious story about how the two stayed up all night giving each other compliments.
"There's no point being involved in the game if you're not going to celebrate and enjoy the great moments," he said to talkSPORT in July 2020.
"I can remember sitting at the bottom of my garden at half past 7 in the morning with that mad goalkeeper Andy Goram celebrating a league victory.
"One Sunday morning, we just went right through the night drinking champagne and telling each other how good we were!"
Brian Laudrup
Spending four years in Scotland, the Champions League and European Championship winning winger was a firm favourite at Ibrox.
In fact, his impact was so significant during his spell there, he was awarded player of the year on two occasions and helped the club win three league titles.
McCoist also described him as 'the quickest player I've seen with the ball at his feet'.
Paul Gascoigne
With skill, power, trickery, and elite finishing, Gazza had it all.
Few were fortunate enough to play alongside the England great, and McCoist was one of them.
Speaking to the station in March 2021, he perfectly epitomised what the former Rangers star was all about.
"He just wanted to attack, he wanted to entertain, he wanted to score goals, he wanted to make goals, he wanted to go by people.
"The thing that I always remember about Gascogine was his power; he could go by people with aggression when he wanted to, he could go by them with ability when he wanted to. He was phenomenal."
