Joey Barton appeared in court on Friday on charge of assaulting a rival manager.
The Bristol Rovers boss, 39, is accused of attacking Daniel Stendel, 47, during a League One fixture against Barnsley in April 2019.
Barton was managing Fleetwood Town at the time and the alleged incident took place in the tunnel at Oakwell after the match, which Fleetwood won 4-2.
Barton, of Widnes, Cheshire, was arrested after Barnsley lodged formal complaints to the English Football League and the Football Association.
He pleaded not guilty to causing actual bodily harm in October 2019 during a hearing at Barnsley Magistrates' Court.
The former Manchester City and Newcastle United midfielder arrived at Sheffield Crown Court in June 2021 to face trial after a one-year delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
However, jurors were discharged due to technical issues, as Judge Jeremy Richardson QC deemed parts of Stendel's evidence were "lost in translation" due to a faulty video link.
Judge Richardson, the Recorder of Sheffield, said the trial would take place when the complainant would be able to travel to Sheffield in person.
Stendel was sacked by Barnsley in October 2019 and is out of work after brief spells with Heart of Midlothian and Nancy.
Barton, meanwhile, left Fleetwood in January 2021 and joined Bristol Rovers the following month.
His trial was relisted to 26 November and he was seen arriving at court on Friday.
The former England international, who earned one cap, denies any involvement and took to Twitter three days after the match on 13 April 2019.
"With regards to the alleged incident on Saturday following our game against Barnsley, I emphatically deny all the allegations made," Barton said.
"Given this matter has not been formally closed, it would be inappropriate for me to make any further comment."
He was later granted unconditional bail and his Bristol Rovers side sit 14th in League Two after their relegation from the third tier last season. The Pirates travel to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
