Since lifting the World Cup trophy in 2014, Germany have been unable to make it out of the group in the following two tournaments.
Die Mannschaft were anticipating making a much bigger impact this winter having shown signs of progress under new manager Hansi Flick after they were knocked out in the Round of 16 by England at Euro 2020.
So much so that Germany agreed to be the subject of Amazon's successful All or Nothing series.

The hope, according to Germany boss Flick, was to show his side 'getting back to the top' by winning their fifth World Cup.
As that is now impossible, six episodes will instead take viewers through the German national team's preparations for Qatar.
It will also show footage from the tournament itself as Germany suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Japan in their opener which ultimately proved their undoing, despite drawing 1-1 with Spain and beating Costa Rica 4-2.
The series is set to start after the Germans previous group stage elimination in Russia, with that England defeat at Wembley in the Euros also getting some attention!
