Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez has made a prolific start to the 2021 MLS season with LA Galaxy, scoring an impressive five goals in his first two league games.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker was brought in as the glamour signing to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while it was also with one eye on attracting the huge Mexican market in California.
LA Galaxy paid 9.4 million euros to bring in Chicharito from Sevilla and things weren't easy at first. The COVID-19 pandemic meant that fans couldn't attend matches and shirt sales plummeted. After an injury early in his time in LA, the 32-year-old scored just twice in 12 games.
After being written off by many in the Mexican and US press, Chicharito responded with two goals against Inter Miami in a 3-2 away win on the first matchday this season, followed by a hat-trick in a 3-2 win over New York City in the following match.
