Burkina Faso have booked their place in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals after narrowly beating Tunisia 1-0 in Garoua. It was 19-year-old Dango Ouattara who scored the only goal of the game in first half stoppage time, as he waltzed through challenges before hitting a deflected strike past Bechir Ben Said in the Tunisia goal.
Ouattara's eventful game didn't end there, however, as he was initially shown a yellow card for a blatant foul 10 minutes from time. VAR intervened, though. and the referee was told to change his mind and the teenager was sent off.
That left Tunisia with a man advantage to try and get an equaliser, but Burkina Faso held firm to deny them any chance of progression.
The winner of Senegal vs surprise package Equatorial Guinea awaits Burkina Faso in the semi-finals, with Egypt, Morocco or Cameroon the final opponent should they get that far.
