Mathys Tel agent provides update on future of Manchester United-linked forward

Tel began his career in his native France with Rennes and made just 10 senior appearances before joining Bayern for around £25m in the summer of 2022.

The 18-year-old has since played 56 times for the Bundesliga giants in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and registering four assists, but he is yet to nail down a regular starting spot.

Indeed, Tel has had to play second fiddle to top scorer Harry Kane this season and has subsequently started just four of his 28 appearances under head coach Thomas Tuchel, including 18 substitute outings in the Bundesliga.

Tel is under contract at the Allianz Arena until June 2027, but it is thought that the prospect of joining another top European club where he can play regularly could appeal to the youngster.

A recent report claims that Man United have opened talks with Bayern Munich to discuss the possibility of signing Tel this summer.

Two other unnamed Premier League are also said to have expressed an interest in Tel, and the player's agent Gadiri Camara has encouraged the forward to weigh up his options ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

Discussing Tel's future in an interview with Bild, Camara said: "Mathys loves the club, the fans, he wants to be important and win all the trophies here with a strong team.

"Sometimes you just need to feel like you're on the same path. We'll see very soon, but I'm confident.

"But if not, we have to consider all options because Mathys knows that he is valuable and will be a top player."

Erik ten Hag has been tipped to bolster his squad with a new centre-forward this summer to provide greater competition for Rasmus Hojlund.

Following his £72m summer transfer from Atalanta BC, the Denmark international made a relatively slow start to life at Old Trafford, but he has since made an impressive impact in front of goal, netting in each of his last six Premier League appearances.

The potential arrival of a new forward at Old Trafford would likley pave the way for Anthony Martial to seek pastures new, with the 28-year-old due to see his contract expire at the end of the season.

Marcus Rashford is another attacker at Ten Hag's disposal, and although new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is said to be keen to keep hold of the Englishman, both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have been linked with the Red Devils' No.10 ahead of the summer transfer window.
