But for Hulk's sons, they had three of football's biggest stars - Lionel Messi, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo - doing so for their special day.
Brazilian star Givanildo Vieira de Sousa, otherwise known as Hulk for his strong build, has four children.
And on Friday, the Atletico Mineiro forward took to Instagram to wish two of his sons a belated happy birthday and show what he gave them as a present.
But this wasn't the average gift you'd expect a 14 and 12-year-old to receive.
"My children Ian and Tiago had their birthday 07/20 Ian 14 and Tiago 12 years old," the Brazilian wrote on his Instagram.
"And they asked me for nothing material as a gift, they wanted something unusual and surprising.
"As they are passionate about football, nothing better than being congratulated by the best in the world…
"Gratitude to the great idols and friends."
Hulk's video shows his two sons waiting in anticipation after their dad put them in front of the TV to receive their gift.
And it's safe to say they liked their present, as they flung their arms around Hulk to say thank you after watching their favourite stars wish them a good day.
The trio each gave their own message for Hulk's kids in Portuguese.
It's safe to say the pair won't be forgetting that present from their dad for some time.
