Gareth Bale made his debut for Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) in a win over Nashville SC on Sunday at Geodis Park, pulling off a brilliant pass with his first touch in Major League Soccer (MLS).
Bale, 33, stepped on the field in minute 71 to replace LAFC forward Cristian Arango amid cheers from the visitors and boos from Nashville fans.
Three minutes later, Bale found teammate Jose Cifuentes with a backheel tap that got the crowd roaring.
Not a bad pass for Bale's first touch in MLS but the rest of his time on the field was not enough to give fans a real taste of his partnership with Carlos Vela.
Giorgio Chiellini also made his debut for LAFC, playing 60 minutes of solid defense before getting subbed out for Eddie Segura.
Giorgio Chiellini LAFC debut
Chiellini, 37, was an imposing figure on Nashville attackers and displayed his veteran resume with a clean sliding tackle.
The tackle came right after Chiellini showed off his strength by sending a Nashville player to the ground.
There was no call as it was just two players clashing with each other and one of them being a lot stronger.
LAFC is already one of the best teams in MLS and it's safe to say that the Bale and Chiellini additions will make them unstoppable.
