After failing to lead the Giallorossi to victory in any of their first four matches of the Serie A season, De Rossi was relieved of his duties on Wednesday, just eight months after stepping into Jose Mourinho's shoes.

The erstwhile Roma midfielder left his post having taken charge of just 30 games for the club, who were reportedly considering the likes of Massimiliano Allegri and Stefano Pioli as candidates for the head coach job.

However, talks with Juric progressed rapidly once De Rossi was ordered to clear out his office, and Roma have now confirmed the arrival of the 49-year-old, just hours after announcing the exit of their ex-boss.

Juric has penned a contract with the Italian giants until the end of the season, although his terms can reportedly be extended until 2026 if he can lead Roma into next season's Champions League.

Juric had been out of work since leaving Torino at the end of the 2023-24 season, closing a three-year spell in charge of the Turin side during which he led them to three straight top-half finishes.

The Croatian has also managed Genoa and Hellas Verona in the top flight, while also leading Crotone into the big time with a second-placed finish in the 2015-16 Serie B campaign.

Roma sit 16th in the Serie A table and face Udinese on Sunday, four days before their Europa League opener against Athletic Bilbao.
