New Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino will hope for further additions in the remaining weeks of the summer window after a flurry of high-profile exits.
Chelsea finished a pitiful 12th in the Premier League - their lowest since the 1993/94 season - following a series of errors on and off the pitch.
Pochettino has added a couple of senior additions so far but there are plenty of areas in the squad that need bulking up following the 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the opening game of the new Premier League season.

Chelsea have received an enquiry from Bayern Munich for Conor Gallagher, talkSPORT understands.
It remains uncertain if the Blues will listen to offers for Gallagher before the transfer window closes.

Cesc Fabregas has admitted that Chelsea aren't ready to be competing for the title just yet.
The former Blues midfielder believes Mauricio Pochettino is building a strong squad but claims they will still need some time before they can challenge for silverware.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Fabregas said: "I can see what they are trying to do.
"A young, dynamic, powerful team. The players they have signed are top quality. It is about putting them together and letting them grow.
"For example, Enzo Fernandez has had some time to adapt, and Moises Caicedo is a top player. He is strong and with quality, having been coached by a top manager like Roberto De Zerbi.
"Maybe not this year, but from next year they will be ready to compete."

Romelu Lukaku has 'lost his way' and needs to hit ground running at Roma to rediscover his form.
That is according to Rangers legend and talkSPORT host Ally McCoist, who is hoping his Roma switch will be good for the Belgian.
talkSPORT understands the striker is set for a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Roma after a loan deal was agreed with Chelsea.
And McCoist has stressed that he is keen for the ex-Inter Milan forward to bang in the goals.
Speaking on the talkSPORT Breakfast show, McCoist said: "I just hope it works out for the man, I'm just a bit concerned.
"He seems to be lost, seems to have lost his way. He's a proper No.9 - Harry Kane mould - though he's not as good for me.
"But you know their position, their job is to score goals, and I just think, again, another one that needs to get back playing again - get his career on track."

Chelsea have now accepted a loan offer from Roma for Romelu Lukaku, talkSPORT understands.
The Italian side have agreed to pay a £5million loan fee and Lukaku will take a pay-cut of more than £10million a year.
Lukaku has told the Blues that he is desperate to leave but couldn't re-join Inter Milan or secure a move to Juventus, who were both keen on a transfer.
Roma have stepped up and are ready to sign Lukaku on loan in a reunion with Jose Mourinho.
But the striker is prepared to take a massive pay cut on his £325,000-a-week contract to force a move to the Italian capital.
Lukaku is prepared to sign a deal at Roma worth £7m for the year, which is a huge decrease on his current £17m contract at Chelsea.
Mourinho has been a major force for the wantaway star, speaking directly to Lukaku and telling him he wants to bring the best out of him.

Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard is reportedly set to retire.
The Belgian has been without a club since his Real Madrid contract expired at the end of last season.
And now according to reports in France, Hazard is intending to announce his retirement at the age of 32.
He has been linked to a move to the MLS as well as Saudi Arabia but despite the interest he could well be set to hang up his boots instead.

Chelsea youngster Silko Thomas is set to join Leicester City.
The 19-year-old has made the free transfer to Leicester after turning down offers from Sunderland and Blackburn.
Thomas featured for the Foxes in their most recent Premier League 2 clash in what appeared to be a trial game for the winger.
He will sign a three-year contract at the East Midlands outift with the move is set to be completed in the next 24 hours.

Chelsea confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic over the weekend.
The 23-year-old has joined for an undisclosed fee from MLS side New England Revolution and has signed a seven-year deal with the option for an extra year.
Speaking after his arrival, Petrovic said: "It's so nice here! I'm so happy to be at Chelsea and I'm really excited to get started at this club.
"It's a big step for me and it's always been a dream of mine to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the world and today I have achieved that goal. I'm so happy!

Marc Cucurella has emerged as a shock target for Manchester United.
United are exploring whether they can bring in a left-back before the end of the transfer window this week.
And they are now eyeing a short-term deal for Chelsea defender Cucurella.
Cucurella has not played a single minute this season so far and Mauricio Pochettino opted to bring on Ian Maatsen rather than the Spaniard after replacing Ben Chilwell against Luton Town on Friday.
The Spaniard only signed for the Blues last summer from Brighton in a deal worth up to £62m.
