Fortunately for Jackson, his bad luck hasn't spread to his teammates with Noni Madueke's 89th-minute penalty giving Chelsea a 2-1 win.

Mykhailo Mudryk put Mauricio Pochettino's men ahead early in the first half before a clinical finish by Michael Olise just before the break levelled the game.

But the three points go to Chelsea, a result which sees them go up to tenth in the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, Palace are just three points above the relegation zone.

Madueke stepped up for Chelsea in the absence of usual penalty takers Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling.

The 21-year-old has struggled for game-time this season but placed his penalty effortlessly past Henderson at a crucial time.

He said after the match: "It was a difficult game.

"Credit to Crystal Palace, they played some good stuff and were difficult to breakdown. But credit to us too, we deserved it.

"It was a stonewall penalty. I scored one earlier in the cup and I was confident with my technique.

"You want to play all the time. You want to be able to make an impact like I did today when you come off the bench."

Chelsea have had a difficult time this season under Pochettino, who has won two of his last five Premier League matches in charge.
