The 23-year-old has supposedly attracted interest from Premier League clubs in recent times, including West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and Southampton.
Alberto enjoyed a sensational campaign for the South American giants during 2024, scoring a sensational 31 goals across 57 competitive matches.
The attacker has made a modest start to the 2025 schedule, bagging three goals from nine matches, all arriving in Group A of the Paulista A1.
Despite his stellar form on the domestic stage, Alberto has failed to make a significant breakthrough on the senior international scene, earning just a single first-team cap in the famous colours of Brazil.
Inter Milan join West Ham, Southampton in Alberto Hunt?
According to Brazilian outlet Esportes R7, a European giant have put their horse in the metaphorical race for the services of Alberto in 2025.
The report claims that Serie A outfit Inter Milan are keen on securing the talents of the 31-goal attacker during the upcoming summer transfer window.
It is understood that head coach Simone Inzaghi is a massive admirer of Alberto, with the boss desperate for the Nezzazzuri to sign the talent.
In another releavation, the report states that West Ham, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers all made a move for the Brazilian during the winter transfer window.
However, none of the aforementioned English trio were successful with their bids, with Corinthians standing firm at their €25m (£20.7m) asking price.
A season-changing signing?
Collecting just nine points so far in the top-flight term, Southampton are firmly rooted to the very bottom of the Premier League table after 25 matches.
Finding the net on just 19 occasions in the division to date, Ivan Juric's Saints are clearly struggling with a lack of firepower at the top end of the pitch.
Bagging 31 goals by himself during 2024, Corinthians man Alberto had the potential to completely alter the fortunes of Southampton if he had moved to the South Coast in January.
