The summer signing from Liverpool was replaced on the hour mark in their 1-0 win at West Ham United last weekend after picking up a knee injury, making him a major doubt for this one.
Fortunately for manager Thomas Frank, who has suffered with numerous defensive injuries this season, he has been able to welcome the experienced Ethan Pinnock back to the squad over the past two weeks, and he will be the natural replacement should the Dutchman miss out.
Apart from that, Frank is unlikely to make any personnel changes to his XI, especially regarding Kevin Schade, who has been in and out of the team this season, but after his performance in the reverse fixture against Leicester, he will want another start.
Schade netted a hat trick in Brentford's 4-1 win back in November, and he staked his claim for another start here by netting the only goal in the win at the London Stadium last weekend.
Despite the win, it was a frustrating afternoon personally for Yoane Wissa, who had two first-half goals disallowed for narrow offsides, meaning he has now gone four games without scoring.
Wissa's partner-in-crime in attack Bryan Mbeumo is also enduring something of a dry spell, with his penalty at Crystal Palace the only goal he has managed in six, but the Cameroonian remains high in the Premier League scoring charts with 14.
Aaron Hickey has made a long-awaited return to training after 16 months out with a hamstring injury, but after such a long spell on the sidelines, it will still be some time before he is ready to play in the first team.
Fellow full-back Rico Henry made a brief return recently, but he has been struck down with another hamstring injury that will keep him out for a few weeks.
The other injury worries for the Bees concern Igor Thiago and Josh Dasilva, who are both out with respective knee issues, and no update has been provided on the former, who is yet to return to training.
Midfielder Mathias Jensen has returned from injury recently, but he has spent the last two months on the bench, having been unable to win his place back in the side over trio Christian Norgaard, Vitaly Janelt and Mikkel Damsgaard.
Brentford possible starting lineup:
Flekken; Ajer, Collins, Pinnock, Lewis-Potter; Norgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Damsgaard, Schade; Wissa
