Eriksen was one of 12 absentees for the Red Devils at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the Denmark international unavailable for selection due to an illness.
After the match, Man United head coach Ruben Amorim mentioned Eriksen's heart problem when discussing his recovery, and there were immediately concerns surrounding his long-term fitness.
"I think Leny (Yoro) and Chris, they were sick. So they will recover. Of course Chris has the heart situation and we have to be really careful with that," Amorim told reporters.
"It's nothing about the heart! I'm just saying the heart rate has to be controlled because he has a fever."
Eriksen calms illness fears after Amorim statement
However, Eriksen has taken to social media to calm the fears surrounding his recovery, and there is believed to be a chance that he could be back in the fold for Saturday's Premier League clash with Everton.
"Looking ahead," wrote Eriksen on Instagram. "I just wanted to thank everyone for the get well messages I've been receiving after missing the Spurs game. I picked up a virus like many people do at this time of year. Nothing serious and soon ready to get back to training."
Eriksen had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator device fitted after suffering a cardiac arrest while representing Denmark at Euro 2020, which saw him leave Inter Milan.
An excellent spell with Brentford in the second half of the 2021-22 season led to Man United signing him on a free transfer, and the 33-year-old has made 93 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring seven goals and registering 17 assists in the process.
However, the experienced midfielder is now in the final months of his deal at Old Trafford.
Will Eriksen sign a new deal at Man United?
Eriksen is in his last season at Man United, with the club not prepared to offer him a new contract.
The Dane has featured on 21 occasions for the Red Devils this season, scoring four goals and registering four assists in the process, but he has only featured on 13 occasions in the Premier League.
Eriksen remains one of the best technicians in the Man United squad, but his lack of mobility at this stage of his career has made him a bit-part player under head coach Amorim, so his association with the Red Devils will end this summer.
