Despite both having spent long periods of their history in the lower leagues, meetings between the two have been few and far between, with them very rarely sharing the same division.
Now, the two are both top-flight clubs, but for Leicester, that status is under threat, following a woeful run of form that has left them in the bottom three.
Here, Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at the head-to-head record and previous meetings between the two sides.
Head-to-head record
Previous meetings: 34
Leicester wins: 15
Draws: 12
Brentford wins: 7
Despite spending a fair portion of the 2000s and 2010s in the lower leagues, Leicester and Brentford have only shared the same division outside the Premier League once since the early 1950s - the 1992-93 season.
That campaign saw Brentford relegated to the third tier, while Leicester missed out on the promotion to Swindon Town in the playoff final, after taking four points off the Bees in the regular season to sneak into them in sixth.
Leicester coming out on top is a regular theme in this fixture, but they saw their 12-game unbeaten run against the Bees, dating back to 1953, come to an end in November 2024, when they were thrashed 4-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium, courtesy of a hat trick from Kevin Schade.
That gives Brentford the chance to do what Leicester did to them in the 2021-22 season and complete a league double over their opponents, something they have not managed for 72 years.
The 2022-23 season was a disastrous one for Leicester, who were surprisingly relegated from the Premier League, with two draws against Brentford that season not enough to keep them in the league.
Brentford took their first Premier League point off Leicester on the opening day of that campaign, with Josh Dasilva's late strike seeing Thomas Frank's men come from 2-0 down to level proceedings.
Cup clashes have been just as frequent as league meetings between these two clubs, and the Foxes are utterly dominant in that regard, winning in the FA Cup fourth round in back-to-back seasons in 2019-20 and 2020-21, the latter of which saw them go on to lift the trophy at Wembley.
Leicester have won every cup tie between the clubs, including the very first meeting all the way back in 1936 in the third round of the FA Cup, and they followed that up with victories over the Bees in the competition in 1947 and 1949 too.
Even in the League Cup, Leicester were comfortable victors in their one previous meeting, which was played over two legs in the second round during the 1984-85 season, winning both legs in a 6-2 aggregate success.
