Eriksen produces two assists for Brentford, Man United loanee Diallo scores two

The Danish star showcased his talents with two assists in the 2-2 draw, in which Manchester United loanee Amad Diallo netted twice for the Scottish champions.

Eriksen arrived at Brentford on deadline day of the January transfer window, and looks to be regaining the form that saw him become one of the most exciting players in the game.

The 30-year-old's Brentford debut will be his first competitive action since his life was saved on-pitch at Euro 2020 when he suffered a cardiac arrest on June 12.

This is the second time the former Tottenham and Inter Milan star has played behind closed doors, having featured for the Bees against Southend on Tuesday, February 15.

Against Rangers, Eriksen provided assists for fellow Danish compatriot Mathias Jorgensen, who scored the first from his corner, and then Tristan Crama who netted the equaliser after flicking the ball past the Rangers goalkeeper.

The strikes came either side of a brace for Diallo who continues to look sharp since arriving on loan from Man United.

He got the hosts level on terms after cutting inside from the right channel, before firing a left footed strike beyond Alvaro Fernandez from the edge of the penalty area.

The Man United loanee's second came late on in the first half when he reacted quickly after a penalty had been saved.

Seeing Eriksen in action again is positive news for Brentford fans, whose manager, Thomas Frank, is contemplating giving him his competitive debut this weekend against Newcastle.

"Christian looked good in the 60 minutes he played [against Southend], looking good in training, he feels well, and is in a good place," the Bees boss said last week.

"He's been out for seven months, normally you need a proper pre-season to get it going.

"He came to us with a good foundation, so he doesn't need six weeks.

"We have another good opponent for a friendly game on Monday behind closed doors, that will be really beneficial for him.

"We are aiming for the Newcastle game, that's the aim."
