Chelsea fans label Palmer 'better than Foden' he gets goal and assist for England U21s

Palmer bagged himself a goal and an assist as the Young Lions made light work of Luxembourg, winning 3-0 in the Under-21 European Championship qualifier.

Lee Carsley's side took the lead just before half time as Man City forward Liam Delap, who's on loan at Championship side Hull, poked the ball home from close range.

Delap will have former City teammate Palmer to thank as his cute pass carved through three Luxembourg players before making its way to the scorer.

City starlet Callum Doyle doubled England's advantage on 58 minutes before Palmer rounded off the win with a lovely curling effort in-off the crossbar after being teed up by Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

And it was this strike that's got some Chelsea fans very excited indeed about their new player, and one couldn't resist making a dig at a key player of Palmer's former club.

Palmer joined Chelsea from City in a £45m deal in the final days of the summer transfer window, making his Blues debut during their defeat at home to Nottingham Forest on September 2.

England are holders of the Under-21 European Championship having won the competition earlier this summer.

They've already begun their campaign to qualify for the 2025 tournament in Slovakia where they also face Ukraine, Serbia, Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan as well as Luxembourg in their group.
