Man United lifeline, Arsenal transfer plea, Chelsea starlet eyes move, West Ham target defender

Martial looked to have no future at the club after being shipped out on loan to Sevilla in January.

United had big hopes for Martial when they sanctioned a deal worth more than £50million to sign him as a teenager in 2015.

Barring a 23-goal haul in the 2019-20 season, the former Monaco star has struggled to live up to the hype.

But new manager Erik ten Hag is being encouraged by the United hierarchy to find a role for the Frenchman, still only 26, after being priced out of a move for Ajax wide-man Anthony.

Ten Hag was keen for Antony to follow him to the Premier League, but it is looking increasingly unlikely United will meet Ajax's £60m valuation unless want-away Cristiano Ronaldo leaves.

CHELSEA STARLET EYES MOVE

Chelsea's push to sign three central defenders has led to rising star Levi Colwill wanting to leave the club - with a host of Premier League teams queuing up to sign him.

Colwill, 19, was hoping to be given the chance to push for a place in Thomas Tuchel's plans after excelling on loan at Huddersfield last season.

The England under-21 ace believes Chelsea bringing in Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli as well as looking to tie up deals for Nathan Ake and Presnel Kimpembe will limit his opportunities.

Colwill's advisers have already started actively sounding out clubs about a move with Fulham, Leicester and Southampton all in the mix for his signature.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will sanction another loan move or look for a permanent fee for their academy graduate, of whom former captain John Terry is a big fan.

WEST HAM COULD RAID CHERRIES

West Ham are keeping a keen eye on Bournemouth left-back Jordan Zemura in their hunt for defensive reinforcements.

Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bring in young legs to provide competition for Aaron Cresswell.

Zemura, 22, who enjoyed a stunning breakthrough year to help fire Bournemouth to promotion last season, has been discussed as a potential option.

The South London-born Zimbabwe international is only under contract until next summer, although Bournemouth will be inclined to step up new deal talks after being told of West Ham's interest.

LENO LOOKING FOR WAY OUT

Bernd Leno has pleaded with Arsenal not to price him out of a move away from the Emirates.

Leno, 30, is desperate to leave north London after starting only four Premier League games last season and being dislodged as the Gunners' number one by Aaron Ramsdale.

The German international has already held extensive talks with newly-promoted Fulham but the Cottagers are reluctant to pay the £11m Arsenal want to allow Leno to leave.

Leno's camp believe Arsenal should slash their valuation as a mark of respect to his four years' service.

Arsenal have already signed a replacement for Leno in USA star Matt Turner.
