Bellingham, the new gem Real Madrid want to add to their midfield

Borussia Dortmund are a selling club, but they do still know how to cash in on players when they either need to do so or when they want to.

The Bundesliga club are experts is buying prodigious players, boosting their market value and then selling them to other European giants, as they've proved the last few years.

As MARCA has reported, Real Madrid have set sights on one of Borussia Dortmund's prodigies, Jude Bellingham, who has been on Los Blancos' radar for quite some time, along with the injured Florian Wirtz and Bayern Munich's new signing Ryan Gravenberch.

Dortmund have cashed in on Erling Haaland, who joined Manchester City this summer. This means that they are no longer in need of funds and they wouldn't just agree on any offer to part ways with Bellingham.

The key to Bellingham's future lies in whether or not he renews his contract. And that is where Real Madrid comes into the picture.

Los Blancos waited for Kylian Mbappe to make a final decision for the majority of last season. When he turned down the LaLiga Santander club, they moved for their other option, which was Aurelien Tchouameni.

In those days of uncertainty, Real Madrid began to consider alternatives that would accept the idea of waiting a season before joining the club.

Bellingham agreed to stay one more year at Borussia Dortmund, the club that opted to sign him in the summer of 2020 in exchange for 25 million euros.

Representatives of Real Madrid have travelled to see the player in Dortmund and they acknowledge that he would be the ideal midfielder to help in the transition period along with Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Tchouameni.

Ensuring the future Real Madrid's midfield

Real Madrid have been in search of midfielders who will succeed Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

The latter two have a year each left on their contracts and it remains to be seen whether they will renew their deals at the end of this season.

The presence of Valverde, Camavinga and Tchouameni offers them the opportunity to build a young midfield full of energy.

Real Madrid have now set sights on Bellingham whose case is complicated, as he has attracted interest from various clubs. Bellingham agreed to wait for a year and it remains to be seen what will have in the coming months.
