Bruno Fernandes cheekily kicks De Gea and kickstarts Man United in recovery win

Marcus Rashford's first-half effort was enough to ensure that, but Fernandes made certain their opponents couldn't get back into the match.

Love him or loathe him, and it turns out most choose the latter option, the Portuguese was absolutely everywhere with his heatmap showing a performance of sheer desperation after defeat to Newcastle last time out.

However, with the angel on one shoulder making Fernandes wouldn't stop running, the devil on the opposite brought out one moment that left onlookers baffled.

Brentford's biggest chance to take something from the game came when the rapid Kevin Schade was given an opportunity to run at De Gea, but the goalkeeper snuffed the chance out.

As a reward for his efforts, De Gea picked up an injury, and needed treatment in his goal mouth.

Many might have been happy with a breather and an opportunity to waste time while a goal up, but not his teammate Fernandes.

The midfielder gave De Gea a couple of little kicks as a hurry up, clearly desperate to get the ball back in play and try to seal the three points.

In the end another goal wasn't necessary with Brentford unable to find the net, not least because of Fernandes running rings around them in midfield.
