Spurs got off to a flying start in their the clash against the Magpies as they looked to avoid falling to a fifth loss in six games.
First, Destiny Udogie fired home to make it 1-0 before Richarlison scored his third goal of the season to double Spurs' advantage. The Brazilian then got his second and Spurs' third of the game on the hour.
But whilst fans were soaking up Ange Postecoglou's side's impressive first half performance, the more eagle-eyed amongst them spotted something bizarre about one of the players' shirts.
Brennan Johnson started for Spurs on Sunday and fans soon noticed that he was missing a key part of his strip.
The kit, manufactured by Nike, was missing Tottenham's iconic cockerel logo.

The space where the badge is meant to sit on the right hand side of the shirt was left blank.
Meanwhile, the Nike swoop and the sponsor AIA was on it, though, as well as Johnson's shirt number and name on the back.
"Brennan Johnson's jersey is missing the Spurs crest!" one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
A second added: "Oh no Nike!"

"Why does Brennan Johnson have no badge on his kit?" a third asked.

Should Spurs see out their win over Newcastle they will rise to be three points behind fourth place Man City.
It will also be their first win in over a month - their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at the end of October - their last triumph.
