According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham's campaign is about to get worse as the winter transfer window reaches its conclusion.

The report claims that Bayern Munich winger Tel has rejected the advances of Spurs, who were pushing hard for the signature of the player.

It is understood that Tottenham had agreed a £50m deal with the Bavarians for the sale of the 19-year-old, meaning that the North London club led the race for the Frenchman.

However, Tel has supposedly snubbed a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following face-to-face talks with the Premier League giants.

It is expected that the teenager will depart from the Allianz Arena before the February 3 deadline, with Manchester United said to be targeting the talent.

Another blow for sorry Spurs

Losing each of their last three Premier League matches, Tottenham are in danger of being dragged into an unthinkable relegation battle in the Premier League.

As a result, it is hardly a surprise that Bayern's Tel is not particularly keen on a move to North London, where he could be playing Championship football next term.

Five points ahead of Spurs in the standings, Man United are now emerging as serious contenders to sign the 19-year-old before the end of winter trading.
