In fact, he even suggested he'd turn down the chance to sign for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in favour of re-joining his beloved Gunners.
Why? Because Wilshere wants to get Arsenal back to where he feels they belong.
After Arsenal fan Darren Bent admitted he'd sign for Guardiola's City over Arsenal, Wilshere intervened: "I wouldn't.
"If both Pep and Mikel Arteta rang me tomorrow, if they both offered me three-year contracts then I'm going to Arsenal.
"It's my club and I want to get them back to where they belong."
As well as gracing our airwaves, Wilshere is training with his former side as he looks for a new club to play for.
Whether he returns to Arsenal is another thing but Arteta is in no doubt that Wilshere could still play in the Premier League.
Arteta said on Friday: "First of all it's great to have him around because he adds this special feeling to the club. His talent is unquestionable, I think you've heard some players say he's the best in training. It's up to him the next step in his career and we're here to support that."
Asked if Wilshere is good enough to play in the Premier League, Arteta added: "100 per cent and if he has doubts I can tell him that."
Wilshere's claims came moments after a debate over the size of Arsenal, Drivetime host Andy Goldstein asking who was bigger out of Arsenal and Chelsea.
Bent was left feeling conflicted, citing the two Champions League titles the Blues have won in the last decade, but Wilshere is in no doubt over who's bigger.
"Arsenal… they're a bigger club," Wilshere insisted. "Arsenal are the biggest club in London. They've got the history."
