T he Bundesliga became the first major European league to restart, with 12 teams in action on Saturday.
During Borussia Dortmund's win over Schalke, various social distancing measures were on show.
Those included substitutes sitting two metres apart, wearing masks, marked water bottles for each player and no hugging at celebrations.
But do these measures make any difference?
Firstly, there is always physical contact in football - at corners, in walls, during tackles and challenges.
Secondly, players won't always remember to abide by these measures. Handshakes are banned, but players will unconsciously do it as a force of habit.
Players from both teams also mixed at half time as they went down the tunnel at Signal Iduna Park.
With all these measures in place, it's ultimately impossible for those involved not to have physical contact during a game of football.
