Villa have won just one of their last six Premier League games against Burnley.
But Gerrard has lead his new team to four wins from his first six games with his only two defeats coming to title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.
The former England captain picked up another three points on the road in midweek following a 2-0 win over Norwich.
Burnley, meanwhile, missed the chance to escape the relegation zone when their game against Watford was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

Jed Steer, Anwar El Ghazi, Morgan Sanson and Keinan Davis were all absent for the hosts at Carrow Road amid a suspected Covid outbreak at the club.
Villa also have a host of injury problems with Marvelous Nakamba, Leon Bailey and Bertrand Traore still in the treatment room.
As for Burnley, Dyche will be without one unnamed player who has tested positive for coronavirus.
Ashley Barnes is another confirmed absentee due to injury while both Connor Roberts and Dale Stephens face late fitness tests.
But Burnley are expected to welcome back summer signing Maxwel Cornet following a recent thigh problem.
