Tottenham chief Paratici's furious public outburst suggests Levy was right

Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici reportedly stormed out of his seat in fury when Marcus Rashford netted Manchester United's third in their 3-0 win over Spurs.

The goal, and the result, put the final nail in Nuno Espirito Santo's coffin on Monday, with the Portuguese being sacked by Spurs.

Antonio Conte is currently in London holding talks with the north London club and is expected to be named their new boss within the next 24 hours.

Paratici watched the action from the stands alongside Daniel Levy on Saturday.

Levy was said to be furious with Tottenham's performance in the defeat, which has seen them drop to eighth - two points behind bitter rivals Arsenal.

But Levy wasn't the only Spurs chief angry with the result.

According to football.london, Spurs sporting director Paratici stormed out of his seat in fury when Rashford bagged Man United's third of the night and didn't return.

Levy and Paratici were reportedly at odds over the summer as to who should take Spurs forward following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.

The former wanted a more attack-minded coach but Paratici ultimately won the battle, with Nuno taking the reins, despite the fact he wasn't even a top-five option to begin with.

Paratici's furious reaction to the Man United result suggests he accepts Levy was right all along, which is why Nuno was given his marching orders on Monday.

Paratici announced Nuno's departure in a short statement.

"I know how much Nuno and his coaching staff wanted to succeed and I regret that we have had to take this decision," he said.

"Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here. We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future."
