Borja Mayoral is up for sale, as Real Madrid have set his price tag at 10 million euros. His departure can't be taken for granted, as the Spanish striker want to stay put.
Real Madrid loaned him out in the last few seasons, but they are willing to cash in on the player.
Mayoral will discuss things with coach Carlo Ancelotti, who has been keeping a close eye on him since the start of pre-season.
Luka Jovic joined Fiorentina this summer and Mayoral believes that this is his last chance to prove himself at Real Madrid, with his contract running until 2023.
He tried to impress at various points in the past, but at the age of 25, with his experience in different leagues and countries, he feels that he is a more mature player.
Getafe, Celta and Serie A on the lookout
The last time he tried to convince his coach at Real Madrid was back in 2020/21, when Zinedine Zidane was in charge. However, he ended up joining Roma to make sure that he would enjoy more playing time.
He had a fine 2020/21 season, but last term he didn't impress and joined Getafe in January. Mayoral scored six goals and registered one assists in six months to help Getafe secure safety.
Getafe is now considered as one of the main candidates to sign Mayoral, as Real Madrid are not currently considering offering him a contract renewal. Los Azulones are willing to meet Real Madrid's demands and offer the striker a contract until 2027.
Meanwhile, Celta Vigo are also interested in signing Mayoral and this option is more attracting for the Spaniard.
Two Serie A clubs have also set sights on Mayoral, as Monza are expected to meet with Real Madrid soon and Bologna are also interested, but it is unclear whether they can meet Los Blancos' demands.
Regardless of suitors and money, Mayoral insists on seeking another opportunity at Real Madrid.
