Borre was one of seven Frankfurt players to score in the group stage, which the Eagles came through unbeaten against Fenerbahce, Royal Antwerp and Olympiacos. Finishing top of Group D earned the Bundesliga club a bye straight through to the round of 16, avoiding a play-off with a team dropping down from the UEFA Champions League. Eintracht prepared for their trip to southern Spain with a commanding 4-1 victory away at Hertha Berlin on Saturday. Borre rounded off the scoring, which Ansgar Knauff kicked off with his first goal for the club. Tuta and Jesper Lindstrom got the others in the capital. Die Adler returned from the trip unscathed, while Sebastian Rode and Danny da Costa could also both be options in Seville after they resumed training.
It has been a mixed couple of weeks for Betis. A 1-1 draw to Rayo Vallecano last Thursday saw them reach the final of the Copa del Rey, but that was sandwiched by Sunday's 3-1 defeat at home to Atletico Madrid and a 2-1 derby loss the previous weekend at Sevilla - the ground that will host this year's Europa League final. The game before that saw Los Verdiblancos play out a goalless draw with Zenit Saint-Petersburg to progress through the play-off round 3-2 on aggregate after they had finished second in Group G behind Bayer Leverkusen. Their trip to Germany ended in a 4-0 defeat - the club's joint-heaviest in European competition. Talismanic playmaker Fekir hasn't scored since a brace in a 4-2 win at Levante nearly a month ago, while 16-goal top scorer Juanmi has been in and out of Manuel Pellegrini's side of late.
Borre made 30 appearances for Spanish side Villarreal in 2016/17, scoring four goals. Two came in the Europa League, where he's got one this year for still unbeaten Frankfurt.
Daichi Kamada is Eintracht's leading scorer in this year's competition with three goals. He's also the highest scoring Japanese player in UEFA Cup/Europa League history with nine in 16 games.
This is the first competitive meeting between Frankfurt and Betis, but Eintracht have never lost away at a Spanish club (W2, D1). Their overall record against Spanish opposition is W4, D1, L1 - the only defeat being to Real Madrid in the 1659/60 European Cup final.
Frankfurt are one of five teams left in the competition to have previously won the Europa League/UEFA Cup, lifting the latter in 1980.
Betis duo Marc Bartra and Andres Guardado made a combined 35 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Dortmund and Leverkusen respectively.
Although unbeaten at home in Europa League group stages, Betis have never won a knockout game in the competition on their own turf (D2, L2). Seville is also the host city for this year's final.
