Alexander Medina's men, on the other hand, head into the game on a run of five consecutive outings without a win across all competitions and will look to end this dry spell.
Match preview
Velez Sarsfield were involved in a share of the spoils for the second consecutive game as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Lanus at the Estadio Nestor Diaz Perez last Thursday.
In a game where Mateo Sanabria received his marching orders, Maximo Perrone and Leonardo Jara found the target to hand the visitors the lead but Lautaro Acosta and Franco Ortellado both scored in the second half to force a share of the spoils.
This followed a similar 2-2 draw against River Plate on July 18, when Walter Bou and Abiel Osorio scored in either half to force a share of the spoils and end their run of two successive defeats in the league.
Medina's men have now failed to taste victory in any of their last five league outings, picking up three draws and losing twice since seeing off Rosario Central 2-0 on home turf back in June.
This poor run of form has been owing to their recent struggles at the defensive end of the pitch, where they have conceded eight goals and failed to keep a clean sheet since the win over Carlos Tevez's side.
Velez Sarsfield have managed just one win so far this season, picking up four draws and losing four of their nine games to collect seven points and occupy 26th place in the league table, two points above rock-bottom Aldosivi.
On the other hand, Huracan failed to return to winning ways last time out when they were held to an uneventful goalless draw by Godoy Cruz on home turf.
In an action-packed contest at the Estadio Tomas Adolfo Duco, both sides were guilty of a lethargic display at the attacking end of the pitch as they failed to convert their chances before settling for a statement.
Prior to that, Diego Dabove's side saw their run of three consecutive victories come to an end when they were held to a similar goalless draw by Union at the Estadio 15 de Abril on July 17.
The Quemeros head into Monday unbeaten in each of their last eight games, claiming four wins and four draws since suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Rosario Central in their league opener on June 5.
With 16 points from nine games, Huracan are currently sixth in the Primera Division standings, level on points with fifth-placed Newell's Old Boys and three off Argentinos Juniors at the top of the pile.

Team News
Velez Sarsfield will be without the duo of Maximo Perrone and Valentin Gomez, who will serve a one-match suspension after both crossing the yellow card threshold with bookings against Lanus last time out.
In their absence, Miguel Brizuela should fill in at left-back, while 23-year-old Nicolas Garayalde will push for a return to the starting side, teaming up with Santiago Caseres at the centre of the park.
On the injury front, Medina will be unable to call upon the services of Lautaro Giannetti, who has been out of action since picking up a knee problem in April's game against Boca Junior.
Meanwhile, Huracan will once again have to cope without 24-year-old defender Cesar Ibanez, who is currently recuperating from an ACL injury.
Argentine midfielder Fabian Henriquez has been sidelined due to a foot problem, while Rodrigo Cabral is set to sit out his fourth consecutive game after coming off injured against River Plate on July 4.
Velez Sarsfield possible starting lineup:
Hoyos; Brizuela, Godin, De Los, Ortega; Caseres, Garayalde; Janson, Fernández, Bou; Osorio
Huracan possible starting lineup:
Chaves; Quilez, Tobio, Merolla, Perez; Hezze, Cristaldo, Fattori; Gauto, Coccaro, Garre
We say: Velez Sarsfield 1-1 Huracan
While Velez Sarsfield will be looking to find their feet and begin their surge up the standings, they face a resilient Huracan side who are unbeaten in eight straight games. However, Medina's men have been solid in recent home meetings against the Quemeros and we predict they will do just enough to force a share of the spoils.
