Mathys Tel update: Bayern Munich forward speaks out on transfer, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur linked

The 19-year-old started his fourth game for the Bavarians this season, helping his side win 3-1 against Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday evening, playing 62 minutes before being substituted.

His lack of playing time under Vincent Kompany has seen him linked with a host of clubs, but reports emerged this week that the forward has finally decided to leave in search of more opportunities.

In the aftermath of the match against Slovan Bratislava, the Frenchman was seen waving at and talking to Bayern fans, hinting that his game on Wednesday could be his farewell appearance.

The January transfer window closes on February 3, and when asked by Sky Germany if he had played his last match for Bayern, Tel responded: "I don't know".

The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with his signature, but all three clubs will have to act quickly in order to complete his transfer before the deadline.

United, Chelsea, Spurs: Who needs Tel the most?

It is difficult to say whether Tel would be able to immediately make an impact given he has not played much football in his career to date, and that could make moves to Chelsea or Tottenham less than ideal.

The Blues are sixth in the Premier League with 40 points, and though they are only one point from the top four, they have lost three, drawn three and won just one of their last seven league outings.

Relying on the 19-year-old to help secure their Champions League ambitions could place undue pressure on the player, while a transfer to Spurs could also put the teenager in a pressurised environment.

Boss Ange Postecoglou is at serious risk of losing his job given Spurs are 15th - just eight points above the relegation zone - and the Australian needs to start picking up wins in order to avoid being sacked.

However, though Manchester United have also struggled this season considering they are in 12th place with 29 points, manager Ruben Amorim is under comparatively little pressure as he has inherited many of the team's problems.

There is less pressure on Amorim to succeed in the immediate future than his counterparts at Chelsea and Spurs, and given the Red Devils are reportedly looking to offload Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, a space in the starting XI could be achievable at Old Trafford.

Having said that, United do not boast the best record in recent years when it comes to developing talents, with the likes of Jadon Sancho struggling to adapt to the demands placed on them.
