Man United set to raid Hale End again as they target another Arsenal youth star

Ayden Heaven is closing in on a move to Old Trafford with a deal close to being agreed between the two clubs.

A centre-back by trade, the 18-year-old has had plenty of interest in his services as he prepares to sign his first professional contract.

While he's been offered a deal with the Gunners, clubs including Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt have been keen with the defender traveling to Germany to hold talks with the club.

However after also heading to Old Trafford for talks and to watch the team in Europa League action against Rangers, it seems that a move will soon be completed.

Heaven is a left-footed centre-back and despite his age will reportedly be deemed as a first team signing.

This suggests that he could have a role to play in Ruben Amorim's side before too long.

Heaven is yet to make a competitive first team appearance, however he did make a big impression on Mikel Arteta during pre-season.

The youngster started and played 45 minutes in Arsenal's pre-season win over United at the SoFi Stadium in California on July 28.

That led to huge praise from Arteta after the match.

Speaking of his performance, Arteta said: "Very impressive."

"I don't know how many players are able to do that on a stage like this [at his age].

"He's lost a duel against [Rasmus Hojlund], one of the strongest and fastest players in the world, it can happen.

"But the reaction afterwards, the composure, the quality, the body language that he had were all remarkable. I'm really happy with him."

Heaven isn't the first young player to make the move from north London to Manchester recently.

United recently signed Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal.

The Danish forward linked up with Man United's academy and has largely featured for the club's under-18s side this term.
