Man United defender Axel Tuanzebe shows off incredible physique ahead of new season

Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe looks ready for next season before training for the new campaign has even begun.

The 24-year-old shared pictures of his current condition and it's fair to say that he epitomises the word shredded.

Tuanzebe signed a new contract at Old Trafford last summer but was quickly shipped out on loan to Aston Villa after putting pen to paper.

The rollercoaster continued for Tuanzebe as he was later sent out on loan to Serie A giants Napoli after falling out of favour at Villa Park.

He only managed two appearances for the Neopolitans as he failed to gain any momentum in Italy.

Now, Tuanzebe is preparing for the upcoming season back at Manchester United under the leadership of new manager Erik ten Hag.

At a time when many players become deconditioned and fall out of shape, Ten Hag will be happy with the physical shape of his defender as he embarks on a huge Old Trafford shake up.

Tuanzebe looks to have been hitting the gym and eating a clean diet during his time off and there is still time to beef himself up further ahead of his first training session with Ten Hag as United aren't due to return until next Monday.

The defender will not want a repeat of last season where he struggled to find his feet and with United's defensive troubles last term, he will fancy his chances of forcing his way into the reckoning.

Currently an attempt to sign Ajax star Jurrien Timber looks like failing, while teammate Lisandro Martinez is also a target.

It remains unclear who of the existing crop of players will feature in Ten Hag's plans next season and Tuanzebe will feel that this season will provide a clean slate and a chance to impress the new man at the helm.

United posted their worst points tally in the Premier League era last season with 58 meaning the club missed out on Champions League football next season.

A summer overhaul was expected at Old Trafford this summer but it has been a slow start so far in the transfer market despite strong interest shown in Ajax winger Antony and Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong.

If Tuanzebe is needed, though, he looks ready for the challenge at Manchester United.
