Even though a conclusion to their investigation is yet to be reached, United may already be planning his future.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, the club are 'leaning towards' a loan deal this summer.

Boss Erik ten Hag is said to be opposed to selling Greenwood, who hasn't played for the club since a 1-0 win against West Ham in January 2022.

He is said to have told his friends that he will never play for United again, although the club have been weighing up a possible return.
Previous reports suggested that should he come back, Greenwood could be forced to do a TV interview and undergo therapy beforehand.
However, before a decision is made, fan groups, sponsors and the women's team would be consulted.
Greenwood scored 35 times in 129 appearances across all competitions for United before his suspension.
