Man City set for Haaland talks in January with Raiola transfer meeting scheduled

The Norwegian goalscoring sensation will be available for as little as £64million in the summer of 2022 when a contractual release clause kicks in.

The world's top sides are queuing up to make their salary offer to Haaland's super agent Raiola, and City are at the front of the line according to The Times.

Haaland has 68 goals in 67 games for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, and has emerged as one of the highest-rated prospects the game has ever seen.

Due to his unplayable reputation, Raiola is said to be asking for more than £800,000-a-week in any potential contract offer for the 21-year-old, with City set to bid first.

During the summer, Pep Guardiola's side missed out on signing England captain Harry Kane as Tottenham refused to sell their striker, with Spurs reportedly rejecting a £128million bid from the Premier League champions.

City now look intent on moving onto Haaland as their No.1 forward option, following the summer departure of all-time top scorer Sergio Aguero.

At the start of 2021, Raiola, along with Haaland's father Alf-Inge, conducted a whistle-stop tour of Europe's top sides when it looked like Dortmund would miss out on Champions League football.

The team eventually secured a top four finish though, with Haaland agreeing to stay an extra year, but he now looks a near certainty to leave despite Dortmund's best efforts.

Alf-Inge Haaland played for Manchester City between 2000-2003, and Erling has even been spotted in sky blue as a child, whilst he's admitted to being a big fan of the Premier League.

City's rivals Manchester United are said to be another candidate for Haaland's signature, with current boss and fellow Norwegian Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having managed the striker at Molde.

But City's current kit deal with manufacturer Puma may afford them another advantage, with the German brand planning to sign Haaland, whose father is good friends with the company's chief executive, Bjorn Gulden.

Puma are also sponsors of Dortmund, though, and recent reports have claimed the German club are willing to give him a big pay bump to sign a new contract, which will overwrite the release clause set to be activated this summer.

The reports claim BVB only want to keep him for a further year, though, as they are planning to cash in for his full worth when the time is right, and not the cut price fee he could be snapped up for in June.
