'Keep the three points' - Jamie O'Hara brutally mocked by police officer

talksport.com, 22 January 2025, 10:40
Jamie O'Hara was on the receiving end of a brutal Tottenham jibe after being pulled over by a police officer.

The talkSPORT co-host was innocently stopped by police as part of a routine check on his way home from hosting The Sports Bar on Monday.

For the officers, O'Hara's only crime was supporting Tottenham - and that much was made clear as soon as the former midfielder was recognised.

Recalling the incident, he told co-host Jason Cundy: "I was on my way home last night, get this, right? I got near my house and I got pulled over. No, I wasn't speeding. I wasn't doing anything wrong.

"I was not speeding, but I've got a nice car, right?

"And it's a car that people nick. It gets nicked."

The former midfielder continued: "So they followed me for a mile, I can see them following me, you know what it's like. They're following you.

"You're doing 27 miles an hour. You're like, come on lads, if you're going to do it, just do it, right?

"So eventually they pulled me over and he's come up to the window, I've pulled the window down and he's gone, 'Oh it is you, alright'. I went, 'Alright officer'.

"He said, 'You've done nothing wrong, just you know obviously you've got a nice car and we're on high alert at this time of night, cars driving around'.

"I said, 'Alright, okay, you alright?' He said, 'Yeah, where you been?' I said, 'I've been doing the show and all that. I wasn't doing anything wrong officer, was I?'

"I wasn't speeding or anything. He said, 'No, no, no, and if you were, you can keep the three points and give them to Tottenham!'"

The anecdote left both O'Hara and Cundy in hysterics, while both Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist were amused by the story on Wednesday morning's Breakfast Show.

Spurs fan O'Hara spent eight years with the north London club as a player, making 56 appearances and scoring seven goals.

His old side are currently struggling for form under Ange Postecoglou this season.

Sunday's defeat at Everton leaves Spurs just eight points above the relegation zone after 22 matches.

Meanwhile, their winless run now stretches to six league matches, with only one victory in their last 10 Premier League fixtures.

Postecolgou's job is not under immediate threat despite their dismal recent run, talkSPORT understands.

Levy is understood to put Spurs' form down in part down to a growing injury crisis with as many as 10 first-team regulars currently unavailable.

He also believes the season can still be salvaged by winning the Europa League or EFL Cup, where Tottenham have a 1-0 advantage going into the second leg of their semi-final with Liverpool at Anfield.
