Getafe president Angel Torres has revealed that Gareth Bale's agent has offered the Welsh forward to the club and that they are now considering an offer.
In a surprise declaration during the reveal of the new Getafe kits for the coming season, Torres revealed that shortly before said presentation he had spoken to Bale's representative.
"Just 45 minutes ago, I spoke to Gareth Bale's agent," revealed Torres.
"They've offered him to us.
"We have to look at it with the coaching staff and the Getafe board."
Yesterday, the Getafe president was spotted at Real Madrid's training complex in Valdebebas and rumours abounded about potential deals for fringe players such as Mariano Diaz and Luka Jovic, as well as others from Castilla.
However, it seems that Bale is more than just a rumour and there is a real possibility that Getafe could be an option for him next season. The 32-year-old has been said to be keen to remain in Madrid ahead of the World Cup this coming winter.
Bale himself, who will be a free agent when his Real Madrid contract expires at the end of the month, has said that he has received a lot of offers.
Getafe, then, may well face stiff competition should they proceed.
Angel Torres's visit to Valdebebas
The president played down his trip to Valdebebas, saying it was nothing out of the ordinary and there was nothing concrete being discussed. That said, he is always on the lookout for potential talent from their neighbouring clubs.
"It's a custom that I have, I visit Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to see if I can pick up anything," said Torres.
"I look, I listen, and I return in 20 days. A lot of names came up at Real Madrid. There's nothing concrete. They're all good.
"There's two or three interesting ones in Castilla, too."
