Arsenal have been handed a timely boost in their pursuit of Alexander Isak as club chiefs brace themselves for an attacking overhaul.
The Real Sociedad striker has declared "it would be nice to play in England" in an update which is sure to alert the Gunners hierarchy.
Isak, 22, was a target for Arsenal throughout the summer transfer window but ultimately stayed put at Sociedad, where he is under contract until 2026.
The £60million-rated marksman has started the season strongly with five goals in 11 games, including three in his last three La Liga appearances to help his side reach the table's summit.
While Isak insists he is happy in Spain, he talked-up a future transfer to the Premier League to "reach the highest possible level".

"I am in a good place at the moment, I am very happy, but one day it would be nice to play in England as well," the Sweden international told The Independent.
"They have six or seven of the biggest clubs in the world, it is a very high level, and of course one day it would be an alternative. Every player wants to be the best version of themselves and reach the highest possible level.
"I have expectations for myself that I'm trying to fulfil, so we'll see where the journey takes me in future."
Isak's comments on a potential transfer to England come during a period of transition for Arsenal's forward line.
Alexandre Lacazette is out of contract next summer and Spanish outlet Fichajes reports he has no intention of extending his deal amid interest from Atletico Madrid.
Mikel Arteta gave a vague response to a question regarding the French No.9 earlier this season, saying: "Anything is possible.
"It (Lacazette's contract) depends on a lot of things, it is not just a matter of being willing, it is about being possible to fulfil that will and when, which is very important as well."

Young striker Eddie Nketiah is also set to leave on a free transfer next summer unless new terms are struck, while Catalan outlet El Nacional claims Barcelona will come calling for 32-year-old captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
There is no denying Arsenal will soon need to invest in at least one new forward, and Isak highlighted his credentials as a "modern striker".
"People will always count the goals, I want to score, but I want to be a modern striker," added the former Borussia Dortmund star. "I love playing football and that means being involved as much as possible."
