The loss meant the west Londoners ended the day seventh in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Liverpool and with tough matches against Aston Villa and Man City up next.
It's been a mixed season for Chelsea who went on a brilliant unbeaten run but have also struggled against their rivals at the top of the table.
In fact, Chelsea have so far played six of the clubs that could be considered among the biggest eight in the division - and have not won a single one of the games!
Including themselves, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, Everton, Wolves, Arsenal and Man City are in this 'top eight' club ranking - and Chelsea have only picked up two points from their six matches played.
This dreadful form was enough for Rory the Chelsea fan to call into talkSPORT's Sports Bar on Saturday night to tear into Lampard.
"I just think Lampard needs to come and have a look at himself," began Rory the Blue.

It doesn't get any easier for Lampard over the next week either.
Monday's opponents Aston Villa are ahead of Chelsea right now and are one of the Premier League's best teams this season, while Man City visit Stamford Bridge on January 3 to perhaps further extend the Blues' terrible run against the big eight clubs.
