Boateng: No white man has ever said he wants to support me in the battle against racism

K evin-Prince Boateng famously walked off the pitch during a friendly match for AC Milan when fans made racist chants against him and the 33-year-old believes there is still so much to do in the fight against racism.

The Monza player even suggested that the situation now may be worse than before.

"Things may even have gotten worse," he said when discussing racism in an interview with the Corriere della Sera'.

"We see what's happening in the world with the murder of George Floyd. They're killing people in front of cameras, sometimes for trivial things.

"Of course the 'Black Lives Matter' movement was born, but it hasn't been able to achieve much to stop this phenomenon.

"No white man has ever said that he wants to support me in this battle.

"Some abstain because of fear, while others think it's better not to get involved with a subject that isn't their concern.

"White people are in charge. If they speak up then we'd be heard more."
