Lindsey Thomas is a French footballer, born 27 April 1995 in Saint-Claude, Guadeloupe who plays as a forward for AC Milan. She signed for the club on 14 July 2021. She has previously played for Roma, Dijon, Bordeaux and Montpellier among other clubs.
Club Career
Thomas grew up with her grand-mother in Saint-Claude, Guadeloupe where the young Thomas would begin her youth career with the Association de la Jeunesse Sportive (AJS) Santoise football club. She would play in inter-gender training matches in Guadeloupe as the only female member of the club among 14 other male teammates, until Thomas made the move to France to join EJS Blanquefortaise (a Bordeaux club) in 2010.
After finishing her youth career by graduating from the Montpellier academy, Thomas began to play senior football with Montpellier for five years, which was briefly interrupted by a season-long loan to Swiss team FC Basel in the 2015–16 season. By the time Thomas moved on loan to Bordeaux in November 2017, she was beginning to play as a striker.
After her loan with Bordeaux ended in 2018, Thomas was sent out by Montpellier on another loan move to Dijon for the 2018–2019 season. In the summer of 2019, Thomas left France for Italian football and signed with A.S. Roma.
Thomas immediately became crucial to Roma's success in the Frenchwoman's first season with the club as she played the most games of any outfield player in the 2019–2020 Serie A season while creating the most assists and finishing the season as Roma's topscorer. Thomas' second season with Roma saw her goals and assists tally decrease, but she put in important performances for the club, including the 30 May 2021 Coppa Italia final victory over AC Milan that saw Thomas help A.S. Roma win their first major trophy on the women's side of Italian football.
Despite her major success with Roma, Lindsey Thomas announced her departure from the club on 9 July 2021 and cited her desire for "a new adventure" as her reason for leaving the club. On 14 July 202
