But not Oleksandr Zinchenko, who seemed to relish the opportunity to jump on stage after joining Arsenal from Manchester City.
The versatile Ukrainian signed for the Gunners in a £32million deal on a four-year contract, becoming their fifth summer signing.
Along with fellow new man Gabriel Jesus, Zinchenko will link up again with boss Mikel Arteta, who he worked with during his time at Man City.
And, having signed for the club on Friday, the 25-year-old clearly wanted to pay homage to that with his karaoke choice, as he belted out a version of Dubskie's 'It's Friday Then Saturday Sunday'.
Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale posted footage of Zinchenko's initiation song on social media, which showed the squad laughing and clapping along to the rendition.
As well as posting the video on Instagram, Ramsdale seems to have a new nickname for the new signing, as he captioned it 'Zinky Winky, presumably in reference to Teletubbies character Tinky Winky.
The Ukrainian bravely sang acapella to the dance hit during the squad's visit to Orlando in America - and it wasn't the only time he has had people cracking up since joining the club.
Speaking to the club's media team after joining, he wanted to double check that Gunners fans knew that they were definitely signing him and not former Man City teammate and lookalike Kevin De Bruyne.
Some even joked that De Bruyne was Zinchenko's dad during his time in Manchester, but the Arsenal man said that there should be no confusion between the two because he is much better looking!
The north Londonders face Chelsea in the Florida Cup on Sunday, where Arteta - unlike Zinchenko during his initiation - will be hoping to get a tune out of his players in their final pre-season game in America.
The Gunners have boasted a perfect record in pre-season thus far, with a 3-1 win over Orlando City adding to victories over Nurnberg and Everton.
