Prior to Manchester City's match against Young Boys in the Champions League, Ferdinand was presented with a birthday cake to mark his 45th birthday.
But the Manchester United legend was less than pleased - largely due to the City-based decorations that dressed the cake.
With a little photo of Ferdinand poking out of the top, the former defender could not accept the gift - though Woods had no such inhibition.
As Ferdinand joked about City's 'disrespectful' gift, the TNT presenter took an Oreo out of the cake and had a little nibble.
Speaking to Ferdinand, Woods said: "Look, they've even put a mini-you on it!"

Woods admitted: "It is the wrong colour, but never mind!"

However, the cake nearly never made it to Ferdinand, who was pitchside at the Etihad in the glorious Manchester weather as it poured down.
When the cake was placed on the table that Woods, Ferdinand and Joleon Lescott were presenting from, it nearly slid off as it got drenched.
Ferdinand looked on in glee as he called: "Let it slide off!"
After 12 trophy-laden years at United, spending his 45th birthday at the Etihad might not be what Ferdinand had planned for his big day.
The ex-England international was a pivotal member of Sir Alex Ferguson's side at Old Trafford from 2002 to 2014, making 455 appearances in the process.
He won six Premier League titles, two League Cups as well as the Champions League in 2008 but has had to watch United's noisy neighbours City assume dominance in recent years.
And while Ferdinand might not appreciate City's birthday cake, it is still a lot more than what Yaya Toure got at the club in 2014...
