Lopetegui's side sit one point above the bottom three and could rise as high as 14th if they can pile more misery onto Liverpool's campaign.
The Reds are ninth in the Premier League table, out of the title race and eliminated from both domestic cups as their poor season continues.
But this fixture will encourage Jurgen Klopp's men who are no strangers to collecting three points against Wolves.

Liverpool have won each of their last 11 Premier League meetings with the west Midlands outfit, only winning more games consecutively against West Brom.
And in all competitions, the Wanderers are winless in nine games against the Reds at Molineux, drawing three before losing six in a row.

So with history on their side, Liverpool could use this game as a springboard to turn their season around and a key player to make that happen could be Mohamed Salah.

Salah will make his 200th Premier League appearance if he plays this weekend, becoming only the 17th Reds player to do so.
He has a stunning record of 125 goals in his 199 games so far and is just three behind legend Robbie Fowler's club record of 128 in the competition.
However, the Egyptian hasn't scored since the start of last month so he will need to find his shooting boots again to lead his side to a positive result.

Should Salah help Liverpool win, it would improve their awful away record this season, with the Reds losing five of their nine on the road in the league.
This amount of away defeats is as many as the club have had across their last two campaigns combined.
Defeat at Molineux would be the first time they have lost more than two away games in a row in the Premier League since 2012.
So Saturday's meeting is a huge one for Wolves and Liverpool, with both sides looking to turn their fortunes around.
