The 20th edition of the best-selling game is arriving armed with new features but one remains more desired by fans than any other.

Football Manager requires a level of dedication unrivalled in any other football game.

Fans spend hours and hours pouring over spreadsheets, tweaking tactics and developing young talent to reach the top.

However, such a commitment often means the prospect of starting over annually for each new release is a daunting one.

Football Manager has resisted calls in the past to insert a save transfer from one game to the next, leading to some users playing with the same club for years.

In July 2023, Polish player Pawel Sicinski achieved the longest single game of Football Manager at 528 years and 137 days of in-game time.

But fear not Pawel, FM have been working on new features to avoid turning away fans that can't bare to start afresh.

In brilliant news for Football Manager fans, yes you can!

For the first time in the franchise's history, users will have the ability to transfer saved games from one version of FM to the next.

And just as important, the transfer is available across ALL platforms.

Miles Jacobson, Sports Interactive's studio director, said: "When you first launch Football Manager 2024, you'll be given the option to continue your FM23 story, picking up exactly where you left off - powered with the new features and revamps that FM24 will introduce.

"And it's not only for this year's version of the game that this feature will be active.

"It's also the plan to bring saved games from FM24 into FM25, despite the big changes coming for FM25."

Football Manager 2024: Release date

FM24 will be released from 4pm on Monday, November 6.

Football Manager 2024 Console will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox on the same date, as will Football Manager 2024 Touch on Nintendo Switch.

FM24 Early access will only be available to players using the PC version via Steam and Epic, but an official date is yet to be confirmed.

However, based on previous years, it usually drops around two weeks before the main game, Monday, October 23.

All pre-orders offer 10 per cent off the full price of the game (£40.49 instead of £44.99) - It is not available to pre-order on Nintendo Switch.
