The 36-year-old certainly made his presence known in his royal homecoming to boyhood club Colo-Colo - 17 years after departing the Chilean giants.
Vidal has seen it all from his career, from winning league titles at Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Juventus and Inter Milan, to lifting back-to-back Copa America titles.
But you can be sure the 35,000 fans that packed out the Estadio Monumental David Arellano had never seen quite a spectacle as he made his long-awaited comeback in style.
Given a truly unique red carpet treatment by Colo-Colo, the midfielder arrived to the stadium in a helicopter.
He was then draped in a cloak and presented with a crown and sword, as he paraded around the pitch while riding a horse.

It's needless to say that social media has been sent into meltdown over the theatrics of his unveiling.
