As requested by the judge in charge of the Super League case, UEFA dropped legal action against the founding clubs of the breakaway competition late Monday night.
However, in a statement released by European football's governing body, UEFA aim to remove judge Manuel Ruiz de Lara due to his lack of impartiality, in their view.
"The present motion for recusal arises because there are objectively justified doubts that allow us to maintain that the Honourable Judge Mr. Manuel Ruiz de Lara, appointed to hear the case, does not behave with the due impartiality required of any Judge or Magistrate in the exercise of his jurisdictional function, evidencing a clear bias towards the claims of the claimant European Super League Company S.L.," UEFA's statement read.
UEFA then made three main points to back up their belief that the judge acted impartially:
(a) The participation of the Honourable Magistrate in the lecture "Cases of abuse of dominant position; SUPER LEAGUE CASE", within the programme JORNADAS JUR
