Tuesday's League Two predictions including Grimsby Town vs. Notts County

AFC Wimbledon play host to Cheltenham Town on Saturday afternoon looking for the win that will strengthen their bid for a top-two spot in the League Two table.

At a time when the home side occupy fifth position in the standings, Cheltenham are down in 13th spot, now cut adrift from the playoff places.

We say: AFC Wimbledon 2-1 Cheltenham Town

With Cheltenham well-rested after their break from action, they may be better prepared for this contest. Nevertheless, the Dons are the favourites to prevail from this contest for a reason, leading us to predict a hard-fought success by the odd goal in three.

Accrington vs. Newport (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Accrington Stanley's fight to stay out of the League Two relegation zone will continue on Tuesday night, when they welcome Newport County to Crown Ground.

Stanley are 21st in the League Two table, seven points ahead of 23rd-placed Morecambe, while Newport County occupy 17th, seven points ahead of their opponents in the fourth tier of English football here.

We say: Accrington Stanley 0-0 Newport County

One of the worst home teams in League Two will host one of the worst away sides, so this is a really difficult game to predict; Accrington have home advantage, but we are expecting Newport County to be good enough for a point on Tuesday night.

Grimsby Town vs. Notts County (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Grimsby Town and Notts County square off on Saturday afternoon looking to remain in direct contention for the automatic promotion places.

Despite sitting in ninth and sixth position in the League Two table respectively, there is just a five-point gap between the former and second place.

We say: Grimsby Town 1-2 Notts County

Despite just three points separating these two teams, they are on contrasting runs of form. With that in mind, we are backing the visitors to battle their way to an important victory at Blundell Park, potentially through a fast start to the contest.

Salford City vs. Chesterfield (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Looking to gain ground in the race for League Two promotion, out-of-form Salford City are set to host Chesterfield at Moor Lane on Tuesday.

The Ammies will be hoping to get back on track after a disastrous start to 2025, while the Spireites will try to build on their win on Saturday following their own descent down the table.

We say: Salford City 2-0 Chesterfield

Both sides have collapsed in the second part of the season, but Chesterfield have been shockingly poor on the road this term.

To make matters worse, the Spireites have failed to score in six of their last 11 away matches, so expect little resistance from the visitors as Salford pick up what could be an important three points.

Colchester vs. Port Vale (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Two sides on lengthy unbeaten runs will battle it out in the race for promotion when Colchester United take on Port Vale at the Jobserve Community Stadium on Tuesday in League Two.

The U's will be hoping to make it four wins on the bounce in midweek, while the Valiants will be looking to get back to winning ways after a series of draws.

We say: Colchester United 1-1 Port Vale

Both teams have shown their resilience in recent weeks, and their ability to find ways to avoid defeat suggests that they will play out a close contest in midweek.

Also, given that Colchester have conceded very few goals recently while also scoring very few of their own means that Tuesday's game should be low scoring once again.
