mirror.co.uk, 25 January 2022, 07:54
Manchester United have struck an agreement with Sevilla over Anthony Martial while Watford are closing in on appointing Roy Hodgson as their third manager of the season

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is on the way to Sevilla for the rest of the season after the two clubs finally reached a loan agreement for the Frenchman.

Ralf Rangnick's wait for his first signing goes on, however, with midfield target Amadou Haidara unlikely to make the move to the Red Devils mid-season.

Alternatives on United's radar include Boubacar Kamara and Declan Rice, who spoke of his admiration for Old Trafford after West Ham's defeat on Saturday.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Watford are set to appoint Roy Hodgson as their third manager of the season after sacking Claudio Ranieri.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is the subject of interest from Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa, Chelsea are targeting Jules Kounde and Tottenham ace Dele Alli looks likely to depart.

Man Utd's Haidara blow

Manchester United have reportedly suffered a setback in their pursuit of RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara.

According to The Mail, Haidara wants to remain with the Bundesliga side until the end of the current campaign, before making a decision on his future.

United remain in need of a defensive midfielder to bolster their squad and the 23-year-old has been linked with a potential move to Old Trafford.

Haidara is currently away on international duty with Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations where they will meet Equatorial Guinea in the last-16 on Wednesday.

The defensive midfielder joined Leipzig from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in 2018 and has gone on to become a mainstay in the starting XI.
