It's just under two months until the January market opens for business and with teams reflecting on how they've started the campaign, it appears that a number of incomings and outgoings are already in the pipeline.
Players will also be taking stock of their situations at present with a lack of gametime or an upturn in form perhaps leading them to contact their agents ahead of a potential move.
What are the latest rumours and headlines? talkSPORT.com takes a look…
Harry Kane
The England captain is ready to abandon all plans to quit Tottenham after the arrival of Antonio Conte.
Kane, 28, believes the Italian's appointment can help Spurs now challenge for trophies, according to the Sun.
The striker has suffered a difficult start to the current campaign - scoring just one goal in nine Premier League appearances under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Kane still has three years left on his current deal and failed to force through a summer switch to Manchester City.
Antonio Conte
New boss Conte has reportedly requested a £237million war-chest from Tottenham to help revamp their squad.
Conte has been announced as the new Spurs manager following the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday.
Italian outlet Calciomercato claim the ex-Chelsea chief has made his demands to the Tottenham board and wants over £200m to spend on transfers.
And he has a host of Serie A-based stars in his sights.
The reports claim that Juventus duo Federico Chiesa and Matthijs de Ligt top Conte's wish-list with Inter Milan pair Stefan de Vrij and Marcelo Brozovic also eyed.
AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli and Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic complete Conte's request.
Toni Kroos
Newcastle are interested in a sensational swop for the Real Madrid and Germany midfielder, according to Spanish outlet El Nacional.
The Premier League side are said to be planning a £25 million bid for the 31-year-old following their Saudi-backed takeover.
Kroos' Madrid deal expires in June 2023, so Real could be tempted to cash in.
Harvey Barnes
Liverpool are keen on the Leicester and England winger, claims Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The report claims that Jurgen Klopp views Barnes as the perfect player to complement Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah.
But the Leicester academy graduate would likely be very expensive having only signed a new contract at the King Power Stadium in August.
Loris Karius
Life has been tough for the German after his infamous Champions League final performance in 2018.
Karius has returned to Liverpool after spending the previous two seasons at Besiktas and Union Berlin on loan.
Not only has he dropped behind Adrian in the running as Jurgen Klopp's number two goalkeeper, but also academy graduate Caoimhin Kelleher.
And Liverpool are hoping to cut their losses by allowing Karius - whose deal is up at the end of the season - to depart for free in January, according to the Mirror.
Eden Hazard
Chelsea and Newcastle are among the Premier League clubs who have been alerted to the possibility of signing Eden Hazard in January.
ESPN claim should the Blues formalise their interest in their former hero, they could face competition from the Magpies chasing their first marquee arrival.
Belgium captain Hazard, 30 has started just 25 games in LaLiga since sealing his dream move to Real Madrid and has five goals from 53 appearances.
Spanish outlet Marca have now reported that Carlo Ancelotti will allow the forward to leave the club if he wants to go.
"Never in my coaching career have I forced a player to stay when they want to leave," the Real manager said this week.
"In my personal opinion, there is no question about that.
"If a player wants to leave, he will leave. There is not much doubt about this."
Emi Martinez
Tottenham are said to be keen to bring the Aston Villa keeper back to north London, according to the Independent.
The former Arsenal star tops Spurs' wishlist if 34-year-old France international Hugo Lloris leaves next summer.
Real Sociedad's Alex Remiro, Napoli's Alex Meret, and West Brom's Sam Johnstone are also said to feature on the list.
Kalvin Phillips
Liverpool are reportedly interested in a £60million move for Leeds and England star Kalvin Phillips.
The Daily Star claim Liverpool have joined arch-rivals Manchester United in the battle to sign the 25-year-old midfielder.
Phillips is under contract at Elland Road until 2024 and the reports say he is 'not agitated for a move'.
But the lure of two of the biggest clubs in world football could convince him into leaving Leeds.
He is valued at upwards of £60m with both Liverpool and United making signing a holding midfielder one of their priorities next summer.
